		<description>While it saddens me, I have come to understand that the Tonys are not about theatre in the way they used to be (uh, like when I was growing up?). The voting is not even necessarily about &quot;favorites.&quot; The Tonys are about boosting business for Broadway shows, AND the business of the eventual touring productions. (Clearly, for example, &quot;In the Heights&quot; and &quot;August&quot; will be touring the &quot;top-tier&quot; Broadway-Across-America type cities.) I am not supporting the idea about Tonys as a business enterprise, I&#039;m just relaying what I have come to understand (which is just a wee bit) about the Tony process. I believe it is actually the job of the nominating committee to see all the shows that open in a season. Once the nominations are set, it is then is the responsibility of the Tony voters to see all the shows nominated. And as you point out, a lack of voting certification makes the actual Tony awarding a dubious process.</description>
